We had quite the scare Saturday (June 17th) evening
when as we were sitting in the condo a scorpion
stung Stockton 3 times.(it was in his shorts and we have no idea
how it got there) We immediately called 911 and they
told us to call poison control. So we did and they gave us
some things that may happen to him numb tongue,
stomach ache, feeling dizzy and body numbing but to give
him medicine and watch him he should be fine.
So we give him meds, give him a blessing and skee
decides to sleep with him. As he thrashes all night long
Skee wakes up and calls poison control again and again
they tell us that is normal and all will be ok.
Once we wake him up to give him meds his face is swollen
and he is talking and acting weird. We again call 911
and since we didn't know our address we drove him in
where they saw the scorpion and tell us he is POISONOUS.
So now they have to give him an anti-venom and lots of
other things. (muscle relaxer, potassium, fluids)
After they got him all stable they ambulanced him to the
Pediatric hospital across town. Then the kids and I went to see
him. He was asleep and very loopy so the kids had a hard
time seeing him. Tears fell from each of us. About 15 hours in
the hospital later we are able to make our trek back home
from the tournament. Glad all is safe and sound and that
Stockton is OK. We sure are grateful for the Drs and nurses
that made us feel comfortable and for all the txts and
phone calls in Stocktons behalf.
