Walking tour

Our resort was gorgeous,
we stayed at the Fairmont Orchid in Kona Hawaii.

We went to a walking tour and got to see where
all the fruit is grown and what it looks like,
Coffee is the biggest thing out there, but obviously we didn't
have a huge interest in that.
I had no idea that pineapples grow out of the ground
I for sure thought they grew on trees.
Cute little gecko, they were everywhere.

Captain Cooks

We woke up and decided to find a new snorkeling spot,
and we heard Captain Cooks was amazing, so off we went.
Little did we know the road leading down was horrible.
Even the ones who don't get car sick were feeling it.
So when we made it down and the tour boat had already left,
we were determined to figure out a way to the other side.
Skee is perfect at talking people into doing what he wants, so
an hour later we had 3 kayaks and 6 sets of snorkel gear and were
ready to head out on our voyage.

There were like 20 baby dolphins swimming all around us.
It was truly amazing and scary all at the same time.
I guess this cove is where the mommy dolphins bring their babies.
Once we made the 20 min kayak ride over we hiked thru a very
scary path with mongoose all over the place.

The view of where we had just kayaked from
Captain Cook found the Hawaiian Islands
and a year later died in the same spot he founded.

I have tons of video footage of this place,
it was so cool everything was so clear and bright.
We spent a couple hours exploring then headed back.
The Locals talked Skee into jumping off the wall.
We had a farewell dinner with about 200 people.
Luckily we extended and were able to stay 2 extra days.
Thank you to Midwest for this awesome trip.

Beaches

We heard of a Beach that was basically all
lava rock until you got the the ocean them it was
white sand, palm trees and tons of green, which is
hard to believe if your walking on this path.
The drive to the beach was like driving on lava rock,
it was so bouncy and we bottomed out like 5 times.
But once again, well worth it.

We found the cutest sea turtle.
It just laid there and let us take pictures and sit by it,
the only time it seemed irritated was when we were in
it's sunlight!

Way fun to walk on the Lava.
The men wishing they had brought their surf boards.

Akaka Falls

We decided since we stayed in the drier part of the Island
that we would head to Hilo and see the rainforest.
We hiked quite a hike to see Akaka Falls. It was
awesome and well worth the hike. It was so humid,
moist and full of rainforest noises. It was Awesome!!

Skee was in love with all the trees.

Me, Lisa and Chelsea
Sadly Angi who was with us at the beginning of
the trip left before we visited Hilo.

A beautiful waterfall.

Rainbow Falls

Oh how beautiful the rainforest of Hawaii are.
We hiked up to the falls and just sat there amazed
at how awesome they are. Hearing all the rainforest animals
Breathtaking!!

He had to get a picture of his Utes at Rainbow Falls

We talked with a Local and she said to climb thru
this little area and up around a bend and we ended up
on the top of the waterfall, crazy!!
Skee and his brother decided that they needed to swim
in it.....crazy if you ask me.

Happy Halloween

Peyton played his last football game on Saturday.
They played the #1 team that was undefeated and did very
well, they kept the score at 7 to 0. Sadly they didn't win
or make it into the playoffs, but we have had a blast playing
and learning as a team.
Peyton was trying to get a fumble recovery and his thumb
got bent backwards, ouch.
Thanks so much Grandma and Grandpa for coming
to see the kids in their costumes.
I can't believe the weather the rain didn't stop till
8 pm. The kids were so cold so we only made it to a few houses.

Berklie was a trooper she walked the whole way.
I am the BEST wife ever, while I walked in the rain and cold
with 4 kids Skee and all his buddies watched the Utah
game on a projector in our garage. Lucky fellas!!
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!
