Funeral

Sunday was the viewing for my sweet Grandma.

It was so fun to see all my cousins and relatives

that I haven't seen in a while. We laughed at

the fact that we only see each other at funerals.

I took Peyton and Stockton so they could

experience the whole Funeral thing, and I am glad

I did. They asked lots of questions and luckily

I had my Mom to help me answer them. Stockton asked

where her legs were, so we opened up the casket

to show him. Skee ended up in Idaho for work,

so I did the funeral solo with 4 kids in tow.

Monday morning was the family prayer and graveside.

It was raining like crazy so we did it inside and then

headed over to the dedication of the grave.

It was so beautiful and the kids were so respectful

and well behaved!!

My Dad was so cute with the kids,

telling them how she will be protected from

weather and be kept safe and warm.

I am so thankful for the Gospel and the

fact that I KNOW that we will see her again.

It was sad to see the cousins who don't quite

believe that and how sad they were.

We will miss you Grandma, but I am so

happy that you are with your Eternal Companion

and everyone else that went before you.

Until we meet again.

Grandma Duke

My sweet Grandma passed away and I am flooded with memories of her and her amazing life.

When I was 21 Grandma Duke took me to Wendover to gamble for the first time!!

When I worked at Winegars I would go to her house for lunch and she made the BEST sandwiches and burritos ever!!

I was her birthday present!

I loved doing her hair every week and catching up on the family gossip!!

She would always want to hug and kiss you on the lips.

I am so thankful for all that you have done for me and my family and for being the BEST grandma ever!!

I love you Grandma and can't wait to be with you again!!

MERLE ADAMS BURNINGHAM

Merle Whitesides Adams Burningham 1920 ~ 2011 Merle Whitesides Adams Burningham passed away on July 27, 2011 at the age of 91.She was born May 28, 1920 at the family farmhouse in Layton, Utah. Merle was the eighth child of 11 children born to Archie Howard Adams and Cora Alice Whitesides. She learned to work hard on the family farm and maintained that she could do the work of any boy her age. She attended the Layton Elementary School and Davis High where she met her sweetheart and future husband, Glen Roberts Burningham. Merle and Glen were married in Bountiful on August 18, 1937. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on February 17, 1983. Merle worked for Davis School District Foods, then worked for over 20 years at the Lakeview Hospital where she became the Dietary Supervisor. She became famous for her delicious cinnamon rolls. Mom and Dad were the parents of four children: Jerry (Kathy) Burningham, Howard (Vicki) Burningham, Steve (Vickie) Burningham, and Brenda (Myron) Wilds. Their heritage includes 18 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. They were members of the Kimball Mill Ward in Bountiful Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; son, Jerry; two grandchildren; and all of her brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2011 at Lakeview Cemetery, 1640 East Lakeview Drive, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. We love parades and we are so thankful for

an awesome daddy who wakes up early to save seats

for us!! We also love that we sit in front of

Foxwood so the kids can eat and wait and

go potty before the parade starts!!

I am so glad the parade was cut short and not

full of stupid advertisements!!

I love Maya's face!! She is so stinking cute!!

Go UTES!!

We are so grateful for the pioneers

and everything they have done for us, I know

we couldn't have sacrificed like they did!!

Raging Waters

We have loved our Raging Water passes,

we haven't been able to go a ton, but enough

that at the end of the day the kids are worn out!!

Easton has decided that he can swim, and he has done

amazing. I am so proud of him.

My water camera BROKE (got water in

the lens) so we sent it

in hoping that even though we have had it for 3 years

they would fix it....well they couldn't fix it so they

sent me a new one!! GO CANNON!!

Oh summer, I can't believe it is AUGUST!!

Peyton had been bugging me about doing

a 1/2 birthday party for him since his B-day is

in December and he "never" gets fun

summer parties, so I gave in and he invited

some friends to do a SLIP N SLIDE party!!

Easton was hilarious, he walked around

wearing Peyton's glasses and hat, can you tell

they are brothers.

The boys had a blast, running up the hill to do

crazy tricks and fun jumps down the hill.

BUT......

an hour into the party a very 'UNchristlike" man

came and asked us how long we had been doing the

slip n slide, we told him and then he asked us

what ward we belonged to,

we were honest and said we didn't belong to the stake

but, that we have done this plenty of times to know the rules.

Well he immediately changed his attitude and told

us to pack up and leave that he was

in the Bishopbric....well it wasn't that easy.

I had 20 boys and Skee and I were the only

adults there at the time. We just let the kids continue

slip sliding when he came back and turned the water

off...RUDE...he told us to leave, got back in his car and

drove off. So we did we packed up, but with 20 children and

2 cars we decided do the cake, and find some geo-caches

since we had an hour and a half till parents were coming back.

Apparently our presents wasn't wanted because he came

back AGAIN and asked why we hadn't left...DUH...we couldn't.

Then he proceeded to tell us that we were not welcome.

There was a VERY heated discussion between Skee, Dave

and this Brother. I started freaking out and I asked him to leave,

but again he yelled at us and said we were welcome to sit on the

grass of the church and wait, but couldn't sit at the pavilion.

Seriously this grumpy old man had gone too far!!!

During the discussion we found out that he had LIED

to us. He said he was in the Bishopbric of the ward and

had precedence to tell us to leave, but come to find out HE WAS NOT!!

Long story short he RUINED my sons birthday party

and didn't even care!!! So I want to personally thank

Brother Barlow for helping me remember that

the Church is true and sometimes the people are not!!

This is what the boys thought!!!
