NO MORE SCHOOL

Governor Gary Herbert
just announced that Utah schools will NOT reopen for the rest
of the school year.

This is the letter from the School District

Dear parents/guardians,

As you may have heard, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert today announced schools across Utah will continue to operate in a “soft closure” until the end of the school year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Gov. Herbert said, “In order for us to continue to slow the spread, and to get back on our feet socially and economically, this is not the time to have our schools back open.”
That soft closure began in the Davis School District Monday, March 16, and since that time, our educators and staff have worked hard to provide students the best possible remote learning and digital instruction we can offer. We recognize the challenge this has placed on you and your children and we will continue to do our best to help students prosper.
As we move forward, we will continue to follow our “Davis Learns Together” plan, which we have again attached to this letter.
There are certainly many logistical matters to take care of before the end of the school year and we will get specific information to you, through your building principal, as soon as possible regarding end-of-year procedures, including graduation.
These are incredibly unstable and trying times, and we thank you for your ongoing efforts to help us provide an education for your children.
Reid Newey
Superintendent

In UTAH 46,476 tests have been conducted
2,412 are positive
with 19 deaths as of April 14, 2020
United States 26,945 new cases today
with 2,407 deaths
NYC has an additional 3,778 deaths today
they are trying to determine all deaths are COVID-19 related
before they can add them to the USA numbers.

We live in a crazy world right now, I just hope and pray that my kids and family
and friends know that there will be an end, and that our Heavenly Father loves
us and is looking out for us.
If we continue to have FAITH and pray we WILL see blessings
being poured out to us.
