Things are a little crazy here in July of 2020.
School is being decided on if and when the kids get to go to school.
Masks WILL be required, which is fine with me if they
get to attend school this fall.
Covid numbers are insanely high and therefore if numbers
don't slow down we close Utah August 1st :((
Covid is a serious virus, BUT the deaths aren't even close to
those of suicide, car accidents or even cancer.
Costco, Smiths, Sams Club and now Walmart all require
masks while in their store. It is a crazy feeling walking into a store
and having everyone in masks.
Church is 2 times a month and we have split our ward up into
2 groups (A-H) (I-Z) we can only have 99 in the chapel.
Church requires masks and its only 45 min long.
We have a song, the sacrament one speaker and then
a song. Wipe down the seats and head home.
It is really weird to go to church, there is no smiling, laughing,
hugging or handshakes, good thing the spirit is there.
Weird weird stuff.
Numbers of Covid for July 18 is 729 for the day
up to date
Utah 34,117 confirmed 243 deaths
United States 3.8 Million confirmed 143K deaths
World 14,773,694 confirmed 610,956 deaths
The Temples have been closed since April and slowly are starting
to open up for sealings only. On July 27 12 temples will open for own
endowment, but sadly none are in Utah since the numbers are still so high.
It's weird to think that Peyton and the future missionaries will be
entering the mission field without their garments. We will be praying
hard that the temples will open BEFORE Peyton leaves in September.
Basketball, Cheer and baseball and golf are all being played, but
caution is on their side, masks worn if they aren't playing and sanitizing
all the time. So thankful they have approved sports though. The kids would
be so sad if they didn't get to participate.
